To commemorate Child Abuse Prevention Month, Hibiscus Children's Center will host the Blue Ribbon Luncheon & Fashion Show, “Up, Up and Away”, on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at Oak Harbor Club in Vero Beach.  Hibiscus is celebrating its 25th annual luncheon with a very special guest speaker.  Dave Miller lived at Hibiscus Children’s Center over 32 years ago.  Dave shared, “I have fond memories of Hibiscus.  I particularly remember getting the things that I didn’t get at home like feeling safe, enough food and being clean.  The staff provided comfort to me when I was sad and even brought me treats that I really loved so I could enjoy my birthday”.  Today, Dave is a strong advocate of facilities like Hibiscus because of how they made him feel.  He has a family and runs his own business in Chicago and wants to share his story so others can know the impact that Hibiscus had on his life.

The festivities will begin at 11am with a champagne reception and guests will have the opportunity to bid on fabulous silent auction items and purchase raffle tickets for the chance to win prizes.  Local boutiques will be offering their latest fashions shown by stunning Miami models during our must-see Fashion Show. The runway fashion show will feature looks from Belle Cose, Cooper & Co., Frances Brewster, Island Cashmere, J. McLaughlin, Johnny Was, Melange & Tendencies, Sassy Boutique, and Vernon Scott.

Thank you to our event co-chairs Cathy Cronin, Susan Kintner and Pamela Larrick, and their committee who have worked hard to create a lovely affair for everyone to enjoy while we honor and support children in need.   Special thanks to our generous sponsors, underwriters and supporters.

Every day at the Hibiscus Village, we witness youth’s lives being changed through educational and medical services, professional mental health counseling and career preparation and training.  Your support is helping youth overcome trauma and have a brighter future.  We hope you will join us to hear Dave’s story of how Hibiscus changed a young boy’s life and how your support today continues to help change the lives of youth.

Blue Ribbon Luncheon tickets are $175.00 per person and valet parking is provided.  To purchase your luncheon and raffle tickets or to sponsor, please contact us at (772) 299-6011, ext. 313 or visit HibiscusChildrensCenter.org.
