Local Salvation Army Officers Receive Promotion

ย

(STUART, FL) โ€“ Local Salvation Army leaders Nathan and Deanne Jones received an official promotion from Captains to Majors. In recognition of their 15 years of service as Salvation Army Officers, both Jones were promoted to the rank of Major within the organization. Officers hold ranks throughout their service and into retirement, and their rank is reflected in their uniforms. In this case, a crest upon red epaulets reflects the new rank.ย

โ€œWe are both honored and humbled to receive this promotion,โ€ said Major Deanne Jones. โ€œIt serves as a continued reminder to us of Godโ€™s faithfulness in our lives and our continued faithful service to Him.โ€ย

Before serving in Florida, the Jones served as Officers in the Salvation Army in several locations, including Tennessee, Kentucky, and Alabama. ย ย ย ย ย

About The Salvation Armyย

The Salvation Army, an evangelical part of the Universal Christian church established in London in 1865, has supported those in need in His name without discrimination for more than 130 years in the United States. Nearly 30 million Americans receive assistance from The Salvation Army each year through a broad array of social services that range from providing food for the hungry, relief for disaster victims, assistance for the disabled, outreach to the elderly and ill, clothing and shelter to people experiencing homelessness and opportunities for underprivileged children. Eighty-two cents of every dollar The Salvation Army spends is used to support those services in 5,000 communities nationwide. For more information, go to www.salvationarmyusa.org
