Humane Society of St. Lucie County Celebrates Grand Opening of New Thrift Store
Port St. Lucie, FL – July 9, 2025 – The Humane Society of St. Lucie County (HSSLC) proudly
celebrated the Grand Opening of its brand-new thrift store on July 9 with a vibrant community event at its
new location: 337 SE Port St. Lucie Blvd.
The event welcomed dozens of guests for a celebration filled with excitement, including 30% off the
entire store, complimentary wine, snacks, and drinks, adoptable pets on site, and a lively ribbon cutting
ceremony to officially open the doors of HSSLC’s largest thrift store to date.
“This store is more than just a place to find great deals—it’s a place of purpose,” said Nukhet Hendricks,
Executive Director of HSSLC. “Since our thrift store’s inception, we have slowly grown in size, and that’s
thanks to our incredible community, our Board of Directors, our loyal shoppers, and our dedicated
volunteers. We couldn’t have done this without all of you. We’re proud to say this is our biggest thrift
store yet, and we’re already making our biggest impact for animals.”
The HSSLC Thrift Store is committed to offering fur real deals with lifesaving impact, with every purchase
directly supporting the Humane Society’s mission to provide care and shelter for homeless and neglected
animals. Proceeds help fund medical care, daily enrichment, and essential shelter services.
HSSLC encourages the community to keep coming back, not just to shop, but to make the store their first
thought when donating gently used items. Every donated item and every purchase support second
chances for animals in need.
The store is open Monday to Friday from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM,
with 20% off every Tuesday for all shoppers.
