Hibiscus Children’s Center Announces 2026-27 Board of Directors
Hibiscus Children’s Center, a non-profit that provides life-saving services to children and youth from across the State of Florida, announces the appointment of new board officers to its Board of Directors.
The new officers are: Nicholas Ferraro – Chairman, Joseph Trapani – Vice Chair, Tracey Dexter - Treasurer, Fernando Petry, DO - Secretary, and Michael LaPorta - Past Chair.
For over 40 years, Hibiscus has never wavered from its mission to provide safe haven, mental health, preventative care and life skills for at-risk children and families. Hibiscus serves over 1,800 children and families annually through our community outreach and residential programs.
Incoming Board Chairman Nicholas A. Ferraro, MST, CPA, MAFF has over 20 years of public accounting experience in South Florida and is the Vice-President of Ferraro & Ferraro, CPAs, PA, a Certified Public Accounting Firm in Sewall's Point.
Nicholas has supported Hibiscus since 2021 and served as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors from 2024 to 2026. He has also served on the Audit, Compensation and Finance Committees.
Hibiscus Children's Center is proud to recognize the dedication and service of our Board members: Joseph Annone, Dan Braden, Jennifer Burgess, MD, John Corbett, Rebecca Lachance, Kate Mikkelson, and Scott Roads. Our Board of Directors is composed of respected leaders from the business, healthcare, and nonprofit communities who generously share their time, expertise, and leadership. Together, they provide strategic direction and oversight of the organization's governance, operations, and financial stewardship.
With the guidance of our Board officers and directors, Hibiscus Children's Center remains committed to protecting children, helping them heal from trauma, and strengthening families throughout our community. Their leadership ensures we continue building a brighter future for the vulnerable children and families who rely on us every day.
