Habitat for Humanity St. Lucie & Okeechobee, The 8th Annual Battle of the Bags Cornhole Tournament

The 8th Annual Battle of the Bags Cornhole Tournament, hosted by Habitat for Humanity St. Lucie  &
Okeechobee on November 23, 2024, was a community-focused fundraising event held at TMx Aero
located at the Treasure Coast International Airport. This record-breaking tournament featured over 78
themed teams and offered a fun, family-friendly atmosphere with competitive cornhole matches.
The event was organized by Habitat for Humanity St. Lucie & Okeechobee in collaboration with St. Pete
Cornhole. It culminated in an exciting final match where "Fish N Chips" triumphed over "Skyscrapers," winning the 1st place prize of $300 in gift cards. "Skyscrapers" and "Team Cobb Squad" took home 2nd and 3rd place prizes of $200 and $100 in gift cards, respectively. Beyond the competition, the real winners were the Habitat for Humanity families who benefited from the proceeds that support
affordable housing initiatives.
The success of this event was made possible through the generous sponsorships from local businesses,
including Seacoast Bank, Wawa Charitable Foundation, TMx Aero, Garber Buick GMC, All-Area Roofing,

commitment to Habitat’s mission of fostering hope and providing safe, affordable housing.
The event also showcased the spirit of camaraderie and generosity, as attendees and participants
celebrated the opportunity to make a meaningful difference. Jason Yarborough of Baron Real Estate
remarked, “Making a difference in the lives of so many families is what it is all about.” Chris Robertson, the Director of Development, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the power of collective community
effort.
