On Saturday, April 27th the Fort Pierce Yacht Club Foundation, the charitable arm of the FPYC, held their 6th annual “ On the Water Poker Run” charity event. The FPYC Foundation had as its goal to raise $25,000 and this challenging goal was MET! 

 

On Tuesday, May 7th the FPYC Foundation held their 2024 Awards Ceremony.  FPYC Foundation Chair, Robynn Holland welcomed guests and members, and then introduced the “Poker Run” committee: Suzie Boardman, Bob Harbison, Ginny Harbison, Chris Hector, Nancy Hector, Robynn Holland, Michele March, Kris Muus, Laurie Partlo, and Victoria Westphal, who presented the awards. The 2024 FPYC Foundation financial awards were given to:

 

Boys and Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County represented by Gaby Simpson, Director of Donor Stewardship

Fort Pierce Police Department - Courageous Kids Program represented by Angela Brathwaite, Lead Victim Advocate

Manatee Observation and Education Center (MOEC)represented by Jessica Katie Barclay, Manager of MOEC

Original Florida Highwaymen Museum represented by Doretha Hair Truesdell, President, Original Florida Hall of Fame Highwaymen, Inc.

Project Lift - Fort Pierce Division represented by Shawn Keil, Regional Development Director, and Vic Miller, Outreach Director

Stella Maris -Wesley Island Eco Camp represented by Ashley Britt Chelberg (Miller), Founder and president of Stella Maris environmental research

Treasure Coast Youth Sailing Foundation represented by Ernie Small, Director of TCYSF

Treasure Coast Youth Sailing Foundation and Courageous Kids represented by Ernie Small and Angela Brathwaite

 

The room was filled with laughter and joy as recipients, guests, and members enjoyed the fellowship and camaraderie of the evening. Guests included Linda Hudson, Mayor of Fort Pierce; Diane Hobley-Burney, FPPD Chief of Police,, Major Eric Chan,

FPPD, Jeremiah Johnson, Fort Pierce City Commissioner; Will Armstead, CEO of Boys and Girls Clubs of St. Lucie; and Bob Zaccheo, Project Lift CEO.

 

Each recipient received a check, introduced their guests, and spoke briefly about their program. The FPYC Foundation was honored to support each of these amazing organization and recognize their dedication to the city of Fort PIerce.
