World Oceans Day at the St. Lucie County Aquarium
Join the staff at the Smithsonian Marine Ecosystems Exhibit on Friday, June 6 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to celebrate World Oceans Day. Located at the St. Lucie County Aquarium next to South Causeway Beach on South Hutchinson Island, this event highlights the oceanโs vital role in producing over half the oxygen we breathe, regulating climate, feeding billions and providing endless recreation. Enjoy engaging hands-on activities and exhibits both indoors and outdoors.
Outdoor Activities:
- Discover what fish live in the lagoon during our seining demonstrations.
- Partake in a beach cleanup and scavenger hunt.
- Learn about ocean conservation research with Smithsonian scientists.
- โDriveโ an underwater ROV.
- Test your ocean knowledge with games at the beach-combing discovery station.
- Enjoy shell painting, crafts and an outdoor touch tank.
Indoor Highlights:
- Fish feeding tours at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
- Behind-the-scenes Aquarium tours at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
- Interactive games, microscope displays, baby seahorse and jelly tanks.
- Touch tank, childrenโs discovery room, and more than 8,000 gallons of marine life.

- When: June 6, 10 a.m. โ 3 p.m.
- Where: St. Lucie County Aquarium, 420 Seaway Drive, Fort Pierce.
- Admission: $5 for adults, $4 for seniors (55+) and children, free for kids under 4. All activities included.
