OVERVIEW:
The Inaugural Chess Queens Crown Table Community Open is a US Chess-rated tournament created to encourage and celebrate participation by women and girls in competitive chess. Hosted by Chess Queens Crown Table and the Port St. Lucie Knights Chess Club.
The Chess Queens Crown Table exists to encourage, support, and elevate women and girls in chess by providing welcoming opportunities for competition, mentorship, leadership, and community engagement through the game.

REGISTRATION RULES
Entry fee: $25
Eligibility: Open to women and girls of all ages.
- USCF Rated Only. Must have active USCF membership to participate.
- Advance Registration Required
- Registration is limited to the first 24 paid participants.
- A waitlist will be maintained once capacity is reached.
- No guaranteed on-site registration will be available.
IMPORTANT
After registration, participants will receive a confirmation email within 24–48 hours containing a welcome letter, tournament information, venue details, schedule, and important event updates.

SCHEDULE & FORMAT
Format: 5-Round Swiss, G/35 + d/5
08:30 AM – 9:45 AM: On-site Check-in
PLEASE NOTE: Pre-registered players MUST check in by 9:45 AM. Any unclaimed spots resulting from no-shows may be offered to waitlisted players present at check-in.
Player Meeting: 10:00 AM
10:30 AM: Round 1
12:00 PM: Round 2
1:20 PM: Lunch Break (35 minutes)
1:55 PM: Round 3
3:15 PM: Round 4
4:35 PM: Round 5
6:00 PM: Awards Ceremony
- Equipment: All players must use CQCT equipment. Weighted sets and digital clocks provided.
- Byes: Up to two half point byes allowed. The Tournament Director must be notified at least one hour before the start of the applicable round.

NOTES:
- Tournament Directors will accelerate pairings to pair players close in rating when possible.
- Tournament organizers reserve the right to combine sections if registration numbers warrant.
- Players who no-show forfeit without notice may not be permitted to play in future events.
- Byes/Withdrawals: All schedule changes such as Byes or Withdrawals must be submitted at least 1 hour before the relevant round starts.
- Spectators: Parents/Spectators are not allowed in the playing hall, or to hover around the entry once rounds have started.
- Place/Class Prizes: All prizes will be awarded electronically (i.e., VENMO), or via mail (check).
- Other Prizes (Trophies, Plaques, etc.): Other prizes are awarded to first place in each section based on US Chess tiebreaks.
- Equipment: All equipment will be provided (boards, clocks, pieces, notation sheets, pens).
- Media Consent: By registering for or attending our event, you agree to appear in photos which may be used for editorial/marketing purposes.
- Refund Policy: No refunds upon registration. No exceptions granted outside of documented emergencies.

Unrated Players: Unrated players are not eligible for class prizes (i.e., Top U1800, Top U1000, etc.), but are eligible for place prizes in their section (i.e., 1st Place, 2nd Place, etc.)
