Hamilton Farms to host inaugural watermelon festival June 27 and 28
Hamilton Farms will host its inaugural watermelon festival on Saturday, June 27 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, June 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Families and outdoor enthusiasts are invited to join the Hamilton family for a celebratory weekend of summer fun and fresh air at the popular u-pick, located at 1500 North Header Canal Road in Fort Pierce.
Hamilton Farms is a seasonal u-pick offering varieties of citrus, flowers, strawberries and vegetables that can be picked during their particular seasons.
The Hamiltons have been farming since the 1930s, with owners Matt and Jenna Hamilton being fifth-generation farmers and their three children being sixth.
“We look forward to welcoming families from near and far to the farm for a weekend full of summer fun and fresh watermelons,” said Jenna Hamilton, Hamilton Farms co-owner.
Vendors will include Testa Rossa Authentic Wood Fired Pizza, Beachside Treats, Lucky Chu Hibachi, Victoria’s Coffee, and Drink Sippers, as well as My Fiesta Fairy’s petting zoo and pony rides, face painting, and free hayrides around the farm. Hamilton Farms is accepting vendor inquiries at hamilftonfarmsupick@gmail.com.
Admission will be $5 per car at the entrance to the farm. Visitors are invited to bring wagons to transport watermelons.
Visitors are encouraged to dress and prepare for the heat and the outdoors, as the majority of the farm is grass, sand or dirt, and to visit hamiltonfarmsupick.com/faqs for frequently asked questions regarding what to expect when visiting the farm.
The u-pick will reopen for its regular season in the fall, with this date to be determined.
