MusicWorks presents a special benefit concert for The Space Coast Symphony Orchestra. Tom Becker, formerly of The New Christy Minstrels, performs Back Home Again, a heartfelt tribute to John Denver. As a teenager, Tom’s fondness for the music of John Denver brought him to pick up the guitar and follow in the footsteps of his “mentor”. By his early 20’s, he was well on his way, becoming a member of The New Christy Minstrels, touring the world with the group that John Denver worked with years earlier. Soon, Tom’s original songs became a regular part of the group’s performances. After leaving The New Christy Minstrels, Tom moved to Nashville, where he began a successful career as a songwriter.
Aaron Collins is recognized as one of the most electric and compelling conductors in America. He will lead the SCSO in this unique partnership bringing the songs of John Denver to life.
Proceeds from this event will benefit The Space Coast Symphony Orchestra so they can continue their tradition of innovative programming, high-quality dynamic symphonic performances, active community engagement and commitment to arts education.
